Most will give the Pacers credit, point towards their youth and development or, or even the addition of Pascal Siakam seems legit. I am here to tell ya, I see a blown opportunity for a young in a growing Eastern Conference.
We knew the Pacers stood no chance against Boston, but what did expect to see competitive series that challenged the Celtics heading into the NBA Finals. Instead, the experience points for most were left on the court not to be earned. Tyrese Haliburton missed the final 2 games in Indiana and Myles Turner only managed 8 points in game 2 and also in game 4, a close out game at home! Not good.
But there was ... Pascal Siakam, who took advantage of every opportunity to remind Al Horford of his age. Andrew Nembhard averaged 21.0 points, 7.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 4 games versus the Celtics, but also gave the ball away in crucial moments throughout the series.
Where does this team go from here? Seems likely more questions around the roster is needed in order to repeat their appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Indiana Pacers have the 36th, 49th, and 50th picks in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.
